Do you eat everything you make?

Absolutely! We write about what we eat on a regular basis, which is why we use fresh, whole, and unprocessed ingredients.

Do you create your own recipes for everything?

Many of our dishes are influenced or inspired by the recipes of others and we make sure
to give credit when using the recipe of someone else as the basis for what we make, but we do have some recipes that are all our own – you can search for them using the “Original Recipe” tag.

I have particular dietary restrictions…how do I find recipes I can eat?

We have tags for the most common dietary restrictions like veg(etari)an, gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free; just search by the tag and you’ll get a list of all the recipes that follow your diet. If you have a restriction that isn’t on the list or there’s a particular recipe you really want to try, please let us know.
You can also check our substitutions page, or use a google search to find out
what others have done. Most recipes can be modified to fit any diet, so don’t pass by something good just because it contains a few ingredients you can’t eat.

How do I find a particular recipe on your site?

We’re still working on a full-featured search page, but in the meantime you can use our
handy search button on the right sidebar, or browse by categories and tags to find something delicious. Fear not, all our recipes follow vigorous quality assurance testing – meaning we’ve eaten them and gone back for second (or third) helpings.

Do you have a newsletter or regular email subscription?

If you’d like to receive email updates whenever we post a new recipe, you can subscribe to
our blog. We also send out a monthly newsletter with our most popular recipe from the month, along with a short update on what we’ve been up to in our lives outside the kitchen.

Is there a way to make this recipe with less fat, sugar or calories?

Some recipes just won’t work if you change the ingredients too much (and really, some things are just worth the calories), but most can be made using common substitutions. Check
out our substitutions page for ideas on how to adjust the recipe to suit your needs.

I tried your recipe and it didn’t work. What am I doing wrong?

First of all, don’t worry! That happens to us too. Try double checking that you added the correct quantities of all ingredients and didn’t leave any out; if some of the steps seemed a
little tricky or you weren’t clear on the technique being used, watch some of our videos or ask a question in the comments. We want it to work for you too!

I made some modifications to one of your recipes and now it’s even better!

Awesome! Post your modification in a comment, or let us know so we can share
it – we might even feature your version of the recipe on our site!

Kim is a triathlete training to qualify for the Ironman World Championships, and spends most of her free time baking, eating Hector’s food or training in the most challenging conditions she can find – usually up hills or on the hottest days of the year. But she insists that Hector’s the crazy one!

Hector is an Ironman triathlete, photographer and web designer who loves creating healthy meals and sharing his fitness and culinary adventures on social media. He’s also a bit of a cookie monster, and has a tendency to help Kim’s baking disappear (for quality assurance purposes, of course!).
